Ik heb een vraag over jullie mooie plugin. Ik gebruik al langer Matomo.

Since some time I always get this warning: ‘Je hebt een dubbele implementatie van je statistieken tool op je website.’

I use a local install of Matomo anayltics on a sub domain of my url. Today I had time to invest to get rid of this warning. I deactivated the plugin WP-Matomo by André Bräkling. And deleted the plugin. Deleted all cache an reinstalled this plugin. Looked good so far. But after a few minutes I get this warning again. This I the only analytics plugin I use. So what can cause this error? I will also email André Bräkling with the same question to be on the safe side.

    Hoi @sitbacknl,

Could you run the cookie scan and see if the notice disappears?

Thanks. I just did after your reply. A complete new cookie scan. I do get one warning now in teh left navgation bar. Not two. That’s ok now. But in the dashboard I see two warnings still. Amongst is ‘Je hebt een dubbele implementatie van je statistieken tool op je website.’

It did not help. Or the second warning is ‘wrong’

    Hallo @sitbacknl,

You get this warning because the Matomo tracking script is placed on your page twice. You can confirm this by inspecting your page source and look for ‘matomo’.

We installed WP-Matomo on a sandbox environment to replicate the issue. I found a setting in the plugin settings under ‘Enable tracking’ -> Add tracking code. I expect that your problem will be fixed if you set this to ‘disabled’. This will make sure that only Complianz placed the script, based on consent provided by site visitors.

It can take a re-scan (automatic or manual) before the Complianz warning disappears.

Please let us know if this solved your problem.

    Groeten,
    Leon

allrighty then. I think your correct if Complianz places the tracking code also. I do use the Matomo default tracking code. But I wonder how you know what the correct code must be in this case. A bit odd. But for now I will disable like you mentioned and see what happens. Hope this solves the warning.

    Thanks

@sitbacknl If you went through the wizard and indicated that you are using Matomo (under cookies -> Statistics) you will be asked to enter the site ID and whether you want to anonymize IP’s in the next section. This way we determine the script.

Or do you want to make extra additions or changes tot he script?

(@leonwimmenhoeve) Thanks. Now it seems to work. But I did it the other way round. I do use Matomo to track now. In your plugin I said not go take care of the script. Let that be done by Matomo. Now the warning disappeared. Tomorrow I wil do the same but allowing you to handle the script. See what happens.

Thank you very much for the super support!

@sitbacknl thank you for the update.

I did not check if you have set up Matomo to anonymize IP’s, but if you do you don’t need consent in The Netherlands anyway, so there is no need to let Complianz handle the script. However you would still need to mention the Matomo cookies on your Cookie Policy.

You know where to find us if you have any further questions.

    Regards,
    Leon
