• Hello, everyone.

I’m having a problem with a site after migrating from one hosting to another, specifically from HostGator to Interserver. The page worked perfectly on HostGator, but we looked for a better plan on Interserver. It turned out to be worse, not because of the hosting (I think). But the page became incredibly slow and crashed frequently, displaying many CPU errors in CPanel with almost constant usage at 100%.

The migration procedure was the typical one: copying the files and the database from the previous hosting and then pasting them into the new one, creating the database user. Nothing else. I don’t know if it was the best option or if it was necessary to do more than just visually check that the page would display.

I tried to fix it by deactivating the plugins. The one that gave me the most CPU errors was WooCommerce, but it wasn’t the only one.

I also noticed that the error_log file is almost 90MB. Here’s an excerpt.

I would really appreciate it if you could help me solve this problem, or give me ideas on how to deal with this issue.

    Thank you very much.

  • Hello,
High CPU usage after migration can be caused by various factors like plugins (WooCommerce is a common culprit), database issues, or server limitations.

    I’d recommend:
Reviewing your error logs to pinpoint repeating errors, Checking your hosting plan resources, Optimizing your database, and Testing plugins by disabling them one at a time.

WooCommerce especially can be heavy, so ensure it’s configured properly and updated. Also, enabling caching and upgrading PHP might help. If you’re stuck, professional migration support could be a good option. Hope this helps!
