    Hello Support,
I’m using WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin and my website is accessing a JavaScript file I don’t recognize so I’m blocking it with the Content Security Policy (CSP).

Can you please tell me, is the URL below a legitimate PayPal file:

    Blocked file is:

    https://www.paypalobjects.com/muse/muse.js

    Source File is:

    https://www.paypal.com/tagmanager/pptm.js

I appreciate your time and any advice you can give.
    Thanks

    Hi @born2excite

The PayPal Payments plugin only loads the PayPal SDK and the button script. The PayPal SDK loads everything beyond this, including the legitimate scripts you mentioned.
If you want to learn more about the specific purpose of individual scripts PayPal may load on your site, I suggest contacting the PayPal Merchant Technical Support.

But I’m not seeing any reason to be concerned about it.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi Inpsyde ( @niklasinpsyde )

Thanks for your quick reply and careful explanation.

If I understand properly, the JavaScript file I’m concerned about, muse.js, is legitimate because it is being loaded by the PayPal SDK. Is that right?

If you are confirming this JavaScript file is legitimate, I don’t need to take it any further.

    BIG thanks, Inpsyde.

    Cheers,
    Julian

    Hi Julian

Yes, the PayPal SDK may load various scripts on your site, depending on plugin, or PayPal account configurations. Some of the scripts intend to e.g. reduce potential fraud. However, I can’t tell you the specific purpose of this script. I would assume this is some marketing or measurement tool. In any case, we see no reason to be concerned about this script.

So if you want to learn more about what kind of scripts PayPal uses for which purpose, you can contact the PayPal Merchant Support directly.

If you have any doubts or further questions, please do not hesitate to let us know as our support team is happy to help.
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
