It worked when WordPress Post export/import failed

I have use WordPress Post export/import a couple of times successfully. Today I exported posts from June-November 2022 with the WordPress exporter and when I imported the posts into the staging site, most of the featured images would not show, although the media was in the staging uploads/media directory.

I tried WP Import Export Lite using “Export with settings for import” and it worked flawlessly. There were 348 posts imported successfully with little trouble. All feature images show.
