IPhone app
-
I asked this question a while ago, but I’ll try again. The fastest way to check bookings is to scan the QR codes. You’ve developed an Android app for this, which works very well and quickly. However, most of our employees use iPhones. Are there any plans to develop an app for this as well? Thanks in advance!

Hey,
Currently, it costs about €90 a year to publish an app on the Apple Store. I’m not going to pay that much.
But I read somewhere that in the EU region there might be a cheaper alternative, so I might take a look at it at some point.OK, I completely understand that. I hope you find a good and affordable solution.
I do expect we’ll download the iPhone app at least 10 times. Other users of your plugin will probably also use the iOS app. I sincerely hope you find a solution by April 2026, because then I’d need the app.Congratulations again on your wonderful plugin, which we, as a non-profit organization, use to manage a flea market. It shows how versatile your plugin is.
perhaps a solution ( or a stupid idea) :
Can’t it be done by creating a barcode look- up that is web based? with the need of an elevated log-in to access the page. The lookup only presents the name and reservation details. No access to alter the info)

bobocop. Reason: Typo error
I’m in favor of an app because there are often last-minute bookings or cancellations. This causes problems when using pre-printed lists (we have about 25 volunteers during our event, all of whom have a registration list).
With the existing Seatreg app, you no longer need these lists because the data on your smartphone is constantly updated in real time.Besides searches by scanning the QR code, the app also allows for super-fast manual searches by name, first name, etc. This is in case the booker can’t show their code.
I like bobocop’s proposal, but I’m not sure if all of this is possible and equally secure.
Yeah I also think that the app is a better idea.
So do I, but if the 99$ developer fee is to steep… what is the next best thing?
Finding a Mac developer that is willing co-opt to submit the app?
That would make submission almost free.I’ just looking to what is alternatively possible.
Still think web based is better than nothing at all! I know that it is possible to grand options upon user permissions. ( even create specific rights with a separate user roll) this could allow specific access to the search function (only if granted by the website owner) and even deny access to alter things.
So security should not be a problem, I think. It also would make it possible to scan with multiple devices and register the location and time of scanning.
I Know a different app that allowed to do that. ( Sadly It has become obsolete because it is no longer maintained by the developer)
I think the best solution right now is to get the app working on iOS and allow people to manually download and install it on their devices. Later on, we can think about how to publish it.
Good decision. And just like with the Android app, we’re willing to pay for the iOS app as well. It’s the least we can do to appreciate your hard work.
Okay I think I hit a brick wall. It seems one can not even proceed with building the iOS app on a real device without an active Apple Developer account. So yeah…
Hi,
I have a proposal that might open a door in the brick wall. 😉
The board of our club (a very small club with limited financial resources) is willing to make a €100 donation to allow you to publish the app in the Apple App Store for at least a year. We are also willing to test the app during its development. In return, we would appreciate a few free downloads. I estimate we’ll need between 10 and 20.
I think you agree with me that bookings should be easily verified at the event entrance. In my opinion, the best and fastest way to do this is through an app, specifically an Android app and an iOS app. I’m also convinced that if both apps are available, more people will use your plugin and download the apps.
Please let me know if you agree with this proposal. If so, we’ll make the donation within a few days.
I also have a few suggestions for changes to the apps. This is not and never has been the developer’s site for discussing code outside of what is hosted here.
For pro or customer support, please contact the developer on their site. This includes pre-sales information. This also includes “IPhone app”.
As the developer is aware, customers may not be supported on this site.
