• When i go to my wordpress dashboard I have this message.

API keys for reCAPTCHA v3 are different from those for v2; keys for v2 do not work with the v3 API. You need to register your sites again to get new keys for v3. For details, see reCAPTCHA (v3).

There’s a 1 in a red circle next to contact form 7 integration. We USED to have recaptcha 2, then the site collapsed and virtually all plugins were removed in an attempt to fix it.

The new site is using really simple captcha, and doesn’t have recaptcha anywhere. not sure i can stop the error message?

    thanks!

    carrie

What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?

Because you are still using the reCAPTCHA v2 API key in your WordPress dashboard, you are receiving the error notice. Since reCAPTCHA v2 is no longer supported, you must register your websites once more to obtain fresh keys for reCAPTCHA v3.

You must: in order to resolve the error notice.

Register your website at the reCAPTCHA page.

A fresh reCAPTCHA v3 API key will be provided to you once your website has been registered.

Go to the Contact Form 7 plugin settings in your WordPress dashboard.

Find the reCAPTCHA area in the Contact Form 7 plugin settings.

Enter your new reCAPTCHA v3 API key in the reCAPTCHA section.

    Select “Save” from the menu.

The error message ought to vanish after you save the modifications.

You can safely disregard the error warning if your new site does not use reCAPTCHA anywhere. But updating your WordPress plugins is typically a good idea, and this goes for the Contact Form 7 plugin as well.
    Here are some extra pointers:
If you want to learn more about using reCAPTCHA v3, you can also look at the Contact Form 7 documentation.
You can ask the Contact Form 7 support staff for help if you’re still experiencing issues resolving the error notice.
To check if it helps, you can also try removing the Contact Form 7 plugin. If turning off the Contact Form 7 plugin fixes the issue, you can be sure that the plugin is to blame. Using a new contact form plugin or reinstalling Contact Form 7 are also options.
