Instant share problem after update

    Hello,

    After the latest update about a week ago, the plugin has started facing several issues with the Gutenberg editor. I don’t want the Instant Sharing feature to be checked by default, so I disabled it in the settings “Enable Instant Sharing Feature (Post on Publish)” as explained in the documentation. This was working fine before.

    However, after the update, turning this option off makes the sharing addon on the post page completely disappear. If I enable it again, the addon reappears, but it’s checked by default, which I don’t want.

    Another issue, the plugin used to take the featured image as the primary image when sharing posts on Facebook. Now, it’s using the favicon or the site header image instead, so basically just showing my website logo.

    Your suggestion about having the Instant Sharing module available on the page without triggering the share by default has been forwarded to the developers.

    Regarding the second issue, are you using the Share As Image Post feature (https://docs.revive.social/article/958-how-to-share-posts-as-image-posts-to-social-accounts)? If not, when sharing simply the post, services like Facebook will crawl the image from the URL of the shared post and display it as an embedded preview using the page metadata, as shown in the image below, which might not be the image you want.

    This was fine before your update. I’m not sure why your team removed this but removing features and settings isn’t the solution. It’s always better to add settings. For example, if we disable the instant sharing, another option can appear asking if we want to keep it on the post page or not.

    the instant sharing was working fine before the update but now it’s broken. It’s not a suggestion but a bug.

    As for the featured image, I never made it as an image post and it would just get the featured image on facebook which is exactly what I want but after the update this is as well broken.

    We just released an update 9.3.3 which brought back the previous behaviour and fixed other issues as well.
