Hey all! Generally love the plugin, but am running into a slight issue with it. On Siteground hosting (which again, we generally like) they restrict the number of inodes (basically files) that you can have on your server. Yes, it’s dumb.

However, the culprit time and time again is Backwpup, mostly because there are 14,000+ different files within the plugin. Most of those files are from the vendor libraries to connect to AWS or Microsoft. Those are each like 5000 files or more.

I’m sure the answer is ‘no’, but is there any way to selectively remove any storage providers you don’t need (like Microsoft) and also have the files not come back on a plugin update?

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for bringing this up — we totally get how inode limits can become an issue on hosts like SiteGround.

Currently, removing any storage provider libraries manually is not recommended, as it may cause the plugin to break or throw errors. That said, we’re actively working on optimizing the plugin’s file structure to reduce the number of files and avoid such problems in the future.

Really appreciate your feedback — it’s valuable and helps us prioritize the right improvements!
