inode usage on object cache

I have a capped inode usage on my VPS

W3TC object cache consumes inodes like there is no tomorrow, my settings are default:

Default lifetime of cache objects: 180
Garbage collection interval: 3600

What would be a more optimal setting to still provide disk cache but using fewer inodes?
