I found a bug in the Post SMTP plugin and wanted to bring it to your attention.

On rare occasions during the initial setup, when the wizard prompts for the From Email and From Name fields, the plugin sometimes autofills these values. I have not yet determined when or how this autofill occurs. If the user proceeds too quickly and accidentally types the name into the From Email field and the email into the From Name field, the wizard allows the incorrect values to be saved without any validation.

After completing the wizard, if you attempt to correct these fields or save any other settings within the main Settings section, the plugin will not allow the changes to be saved.

    Console Error Log: admin.php?page=postman%2Fconfiguration:1
An invalid form control with name='postman_options[envelope_sender]' is not focusable.

The only way to resolve the issue is to rerun the Setup Wizard and fix the incorrect values there. Once corrected in the wizard, the Settings section can be saved normally.

    Hey @billiardgreg,

We were not able to reproduce the specific issues you mentioned. However, during our testing and attempts to replicate them, we did identify some gaps and inconsistencies in the flow.

These improvements are already planned and will be addressed in the upcoming Enhanced Wizard sprint, which will be included in a future release.

Once that update is live, if you continue to experience any issues, please feel free to open a new thread and we’ll gladly review it again.

Additionally, if you’d like us to investigate your case more closely and work on it in a dedicated manner, you can open a support ticket through our website. We’ll be more than happy to assist you.
