    I am beyond frustrated right now. After a week of issues just getting WP3.5 installed on my self-hosting site – I now cannot get my wp.com blog posts to show on my self hosting installation. I’ve talked with my hosting provider – he made a few suggestions – I deleted and re-created my database and tried importing the xml file using phpmyadmin. (I had previously followed the WP.org instructions to install using the import feature on my WP installation, which did not show up in my Posts . . . but when I look in the data base in my CPanel – the files are there!) I am at my wits end and don’t know what to do next as my host can’t help me, I can’t use the WP Guided Install because my host is not on their “approved” list . . . and I’ve followed WP instructions to a T with no success. I’m reading through the forums . . . but so far everything I read is like 2 years or more older . . .

    So all of the issues stem from this web host? How about a better one?

    Host Papa is a well respected hosting site here in Canada. At this point they are telling me to talk WP about why the files aren’t showing up. WP tells me to talk to my host. No one seems to be able to help with the issue. I’m not a techie – just someone trying to use what was sold to me as a simple platform to use for my blog . . . . Every step of the way the “simple” tools used to install WP, and then import my blog from wp.com have met with one complication after another – and with one side pointing to the other as the solution. So %^*#$%^ frustrating!

    Sorry you are having these issues…can you provide a link to your site so we can see if anything obvious junps out at any experienced forum support folks? It does not have to have posts, just be a running wp dot org site…
