Hi Matt,
thanks for reaching out.
I haven’t tested the export, yet, and just did.
When using Tools > Export to export media, I can see that the image source metadata is included in the XML file.
When I import that file using the WordPress importer on another site, all images and the metadata is imported, too. Even with changed IDs. You should find the image source information in the appropriate fields in the media library. Is that what is already missing in your case? Do you still have the exported XML and could take a look if you find image attribution strings in there? You could look for isc_image_source.
What is missing or simply wrong is the index that stores post and image relations. So the Global List might be empty at first.
Ideally, go to Media > Image Sources and find the button to clear the post-images index.
The index should now start rebuilding itself with each page visit in the frontend.
Please let me know what you find.
Best,
Thomas

Dear Thomas, yes you did it! Your “tools” and rebuilding did the trick – everything is here now… Wow. Thank you so much.
All the best,
Matt
