How to translate widget text?
-
Hi there,
I’m wondering if I’m missing documentation on how to translate widget text. I can see the widget titles available in the “translate string” area, but I’m not sure where to find the actual content of the block available to translate.
For reference, I am using the new widget editor (supported by Gutenberg) so it may not be available. I’m also using a custom made theme but didn’t see any documentation regarding anything special for developers to enable all the features of Falang.

Hi,
Yes i know i have to write more documenation.
It’s depends of the widget.
Normally it’s in the translate string area but it’s depends of the widget too.You can find it in the option.
Or you can set to have a widget by language (in the old widget system) in the new one with Gutenberg it’s not yet possible. What is the widget , can you send me an access to have a look ?
You can use the contact form of faboba.com site.Best regards,
StéphaneHi Stéphane,
It’s a simple paragraph block, but it’s a gutenberg one so it’s not showing as a string unfortunately. I’d be happy to let you have a look. I’ll send you a message through your contact form.
Hi,
you can use this workaround
in the Falang options translation you can filter by “widget_block”
in the popup you will see after a number 1,2,3 your widget you can translate it here.
Stéphane
Ah I see, you have to expand those. Maybe if this is the workaround, you could make those areas textareas instead of text fields?
Yes but the options system is more when no others system are possible
the widget was possible to translate in the string before the new WP Widget system.i will see to find a nicer way to make this but the widget block are in the option now.
I put the thread as resolved due the workaround.
