How to edit styles.css? | WordPress.org

Hello,

when I edit styles.css from Appearance -> Editor nothing happens.
If I want to edit sytles.css I have to from Customize -> Additional Css (live)
Does anybody know how to edit from Editor?

Hello @amedicm,

You should not be editing the style.css file, or any files directly from the main theme as when you receive the next update for the theme all the changes that you had done in the files will get replaced with the original theme files.

You should be using a child theme for making anny modifications in the theme.

Also – Since you are adding just the CSS, you can add that in Customize > Additional CSS
