Please allow me to apologize if we have not responded to your prior support messages. We do respond to all messages we receive, so it’s possible they did not make it through to us for some reason. Checking our internal messages, I do see that we also received one from you today at about the same time as you posted here, so I will respond to both of them for you!
Regarding excluding folders inside your uploads directory for bulk optimization, unfortunately, that is not possible. If you’d like more precise control over which images you optimize, you can select large groups of images from within your Media Library and apply the “Optimize” bulk action. I know this is not exactly what you are looking for, but I believe this is your best option.
Also, regarding running the Bulk Optimizer without having the browser open, that is also not possible. You can have other tabs open and be working on other things, but the Bulk Optimizer must remain open in a tab to do its work.
