Host or WordPress is your default mail – error

    Hi,

    Our domain is setup like this:

    Registered at namecheap and points to bluehost. Namecheap MX is setup correctly for G Suite.

    No mail boxes on bluehost. Mail works fine if we send an email to it from a different one.

    Gmail API is setup properly and is authenticated in Post.

    But we get the error: Email is setup with your host or WordPress plugin (but we don’t have any WordPress mail plugins…

    Hey Tim, Yeah the exact error is “Postman is unable to run. Email delivery is being handled by WordPress (or another plugin).”

    Oh it also says “ Error: Postman is missing a required PHP library.”

    and “ This PHP installation requires the iconv library”

    Hi @3eamus,

    It looks like you are using PHP 8, which is not currently supported by PostSMTP. WordPress itself is only beta compatible.

    If this is a production website, I would strongly advise that you downgrade to PHP 7 as soon as possible.

    Hi @3eamus,

    Are you seeing that on the main PostSMTP screen? Do you get any kind of error if you attempt to send a test email through PostSMTP?

    Are you also able to try disabling all plugins except PostSMTP and see what results that produces?
