    Hi,

I just realized I have an issue with the preview snippet. It doesn’t take into account the slug entered as the post or page url and is left as “undefined”. When checking all the previously created post and pages, the “slug” area is left empty, and if create a new one same happened….

To give some back story, I just tried a plugin called permalink-manager, to change to custom post permalink, but when I realized there was this issue with undefined slug, I decided to switch back to a previous state of my website, thanks to a backup. Only to realized that the issue is still there, so I’m wondering that it was not coming from this other plugin since I did a complete refresh including plugins and database, so that permalink-manager is not affecting my website anymore.

Am I missing something here ? Why does this issue persist then ?
    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Are you able to reproduce the issue when the Yoast SEO plugin is deactivated on your site?

    Hi,

Well, obviously, If I deactivate it, I won’t be able to see that preview… Because I mean the preview area under any post or page, one of the functionality that come with Yoast where you can have an idea of what the preview will be and change title or text preview as desired.

Sorry for mixing it up. Can you please share a screenshot of the issue so we can understand it better?

@rely28 Thanks for your reply and for providing the image. We tried to replicate the issue you described, but were unable to.

If you have already confirmed that both Yoast SEO and WordPress are up to date and the issue is still occurring, we would next recommend performing a conflict check to determine whether another plugin or theme is interfering with the Yoast plugin. The fastest way to do this is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Nineteen. Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check without affecting normal visitors to your site.As we can imagine that you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Hi,

For some reason, the plugin Health Check was not working as expected so I did the test manually (due to Covid situation, I don’t have much visitors on my website anyway)

And I’ve found the faulty ones, yes with an s. I’ve contacted the author of the plugins both from the same person, FYI, it’s Meow Gallery and Meow Lightbox, if either of these plugins is activated, the issue is there.

    Regards,
    Romain

Thanks for performing the conflict check and sharing the faulty plugins list with us. If you have a spare moment to share with us, please do submit a proper bug report directly at our GitHub development repository so that our development team looks into this further to see if there’s something we can improve on our end.
