Good plugin, better support

We just converted a large Joomla site with 100’s of pages and 6,000 photos in numerous phoca galleries.

We purchased the premium version along with the phoca add-on. We had some problems getting it to work directly because our Joomla DB server doesn’t allow outside connections and i suspect there was a problem with our new WP server’s timing settings.

So i contacted this developer and for very little money, they handled the migration for us. They exported the database to their own server, migrated it to WordPress, and then migrated the entire setup to my new WP server.

In my opinion, this is not a fail of the plugin. It likely had to do with my host. This developer initially offered all kinds of support until i asked them if they’d be willing to just do the work, which they did.

So all in all very happy that my site was migrated through a combination of purchasing this plugin, add-on, and a small consulting fee. I chose this route rather than spend the time troubleshooting my server despite this developer’s willingness to support me with that.

In the end, it got done very quickly and for relatively little money considering the size of the site and # of photos.
