I keep getting your emails from blog posts into Gmail’s spam folder, sometimes even the title is updated to show ** SPAM ** – are you guys aware of this?

  • Not happening to me and I use Gmail and am strict about spam. Perhaps just whitelist the Wordfence emails MTN

@mountainguy2 I never whitelisted any emails before, not even sure where to do it. I thought the “mark as spam” or “not spam” options would actually take care of it, at some level at least. I have already marked Worfence emails as “not spam” several times before, yet they still end up in my SPAM folder time to time.

Gmail has robust settings, in Gmail, click on “More” and add a filter that whitelists everything from Wordfence. In any email client you’re going to need to be configuring your spam filter settings, I don’t see how doing so could be avoided if you’re doing much email work. It’s amazing what a good job Gmail does with spam, but it’s far from perfect. MTN

P.S., for the mega settings, click on gear icon in Gmail, then “Settings.” Lots of good stuff in there. MTN

@mountainguy2 I’m quite familiar with filters and settings, but thanks for the pointer anyway. However, what you’re saying would really only be true if WF emails were ALWAYS going into my SPAM folder, but that’s not the case – it is only happening periodically, so I was assuming WF could also take necessary steps, if any, especially if it’s not only me reporting this. It’s good that your life is perfect, and that you cracked this one, but not everyone would do, necessarily, so I’d really be curious about the input from one of the authors…

I’ve got some experience with trying to keep emails out of Gmail spam, it’s not always easy but like you I’d of course appreciate Wordfence making a stab at it. As for making a filter, to the best of my knowledge it’ll still work fine if only some of the emails are going to spam — it’ll just make sure everything from WF is white listed. As for the perfect life with Gmail, never gonna happen [smile]. The next downgrade is just around the corner. MTN

Check the email type for the ones that are blocked. Some are sent out in html format and I know that can trip some spam filters.
