Function for adding subscribers

Awesome plugin! Thanks.
1) Now, our site is interviews with fitness people, so we would like to automatically add the people we interview as subscribers.
Is there a way to do that automatically, for example using a function in the plugin? (we can code basic PHP etc., so no problems calling a function, hook, etc.)
2) It looks like the subscribers are saved in the database table wp_subscribe_reloaded_subscribers
What are the fields salt and subscriber_unique_id? And how do we make sure they are filled out correctly if there aren’t any build in function we can use to add subscribers?
