Free Membership – Adding Addresses

I have a free membership tier which is setup to ask for a billing address so that I can use the data for mapping.

However, I have a number of existing users that have already been setup before I activated the billing address for free membership.

Is there a way to enable these users to retrospectively add their address?

Hi @lensdigital

The best would be to prompt them to navigate to the Membership Account > Edit Profile page and update their address from there. On save, the address should be geocoded and mapped accordingly.

What is the best way to displaying the address there? I tried [pmpro_billing] but the Free tier isn’t a recurring membership tier so it won’t display.

Sorry I missed an important part in your initial post. You can make use of the Name & Address for Free Levels Add On (https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/add-ons/capture-name-address-free-levels-offsite-gateway/) which would add a set of billing fields to the account pages for a user that holds a free level.

You may use this version for free by visiting http://www.paidmembershipspro.com/free to test things out and see if it fits your needs.

Otherwise, an easier alternative to apply to all levels (but would require some code mapping the data to an order afterwards) would be to create billing fields under the ‘User Fields’ functionality found under Memberships > Settings > User Fields.
