Hello in going over my website I encountered this error message when checking one of the forms:

“Heads up! WPForms has detected an issue with JavaScript on this page. JavaScript is required for this form to work properly, so this form may not work as expected. See our troubleshooting guide to learn more or contact support.”

The form has been working so I am not sure when it occurred, although I see that the plugin was updated 6 days ago, whether that is related or not I don’t know, I thought of re-installing the plugin and deleting and rebuilding the form but then decided that I should ask here first in case someone else has already encountered the same issue

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @axiom28,

Thanks for reaching out! I’m sorry to hear you ran into that JavaScript warning, but I appreciate you checking with us before trying to rebuild everything.

I have visited your site and tested the form on the page you shared. I was unable to see the alert on my end, and my test submission went through successfully with the correct confirmation message. You can see a screenshot here of my successful test.

Since the form is working for me, this warning is likely caused by “stale” files being stored in your browser or a caching plugin after the recent update. I recommend trying these steps:

    • Use Incognito Mode: Open your form in an incognito or private browser window.
    • Clear Site Cache: If you use a caching plugin on your site, please purge all caches.

If you’d like to learn more about why this warning sometimes appears, we have a detailed guide here: Error: JavaScript Not Loading Properly

Please let me know if the issue continues after trying those steps or if you have any questions!

    Hello Raiden

Thank you for your reply, It is good to know that the form actually works, however, I did neglect to include in the error message this part:

This message is only displayed to site administrators.

Which is probably why you didn’t see it, what else can we check, I have another form apart from this one on a different page, which shows the same message, including the fact that it is only visible to the site administration: this page https://resonateintowellness.com/contact/

Hope you can help further I can provide admin login if required

    Hi @axiom28,

Thank you for that clarification! Knowing that the message is only displayed to site administrators is very helpful.

Regarding your offer to provide login details: I truly appreciate your willingness to help us investigate, but please note that the WordPress.org forum guidelines strictly prohibit the sharing of admin login information for liability reasons. You can find the specific policy here: WordPress.org Forum Guidelines.

I also tested your Contact page and confirmed that, as a regular visitor, I can submit the form successfully without any errors. You can see my successful test submission in this screenshot.

Since the alert is only appearing to logged-in administrators, it points to a conflict between WPForms and another plugin or your active theme that only triggers when administrative scripts are loading.

To locate the exact source of this conflict, I recommend following our detailed troubleshooting guide: Testing Theme or Plugin Conflicts.

Once you identify which plugin or theme is causing the clash, you can report the issue to that specific author or support team. Let them know that a JavaScript alert is triggered specifically for logged-in administrators when accessing a page with a WPForms form.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi @axiom28,

We haven’t heard back from you in a few days, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
