Hi, I have 285 sources. Everything was working very well before the version change. Since a few weeks, none of the feeds are updating automatically, but it works if I click on “Fetch” for each feed individually.
Thanks for reaching out, and for the detailed explanation.
From what you described, this may be related to one or more sources encountering errors during the automatic update process. When a source has a problem, it will usually show a “!” icon next to it in Aggregator → Sources. If one or more sources are repeatedly failing, it can sometimes interrupt or slow down the automatic import process for other sources.
Since you mentioned that manually clicking Fetch works, it suggests that the feeds themselves are still accessible, but something in the automatic process may be getting blocked by problematic sources.
Could you please try the following?
Go to Aggregator → Sources.
Check if any of the sources show a “!” icon (indicating an error).
If you find any sources with errors, try pausing those sources temporarily.
After that, wait for the next automatic update cycle and see if the other feeds begin updating normally again.
With 285 sources, even a few problematic feeds can sometimes affect the overall update process, so identifying and pausing the ones with errors can help stabilize the automatic updates.
Please let us know what you find, and we’ll be happy to assist further if needed.
Let’s see how things go over the next few hours now that the sources with the “!” icon are paused. If those problematic feeds were interrupting the process, the automatic updates should start running normally again.
I also noticed your note that one source was updated automatically. That is helpful information, as it suggests that the scheduler may still be running, but it may not be processing all sources consistently.
Since manually clicking Fetch works correctly but most feeds are not updating automatically, it would be useful to check whether the scheduled tasks responsible for automatic imports are running properly on your site.
Could you please install the WP Crontrol plugin and then do the following?
Go to Tools → Cron Events in your WordPress dashboard.
Use the search field and look for events containing the keyword “wpra”.
Take a full-page screenshot of that page and share it with us.
A full-page screenshot would be helpful so we can also see if there are any notices or warnings related to cron events.
Once we have that information, we should be able to narrow down the cause more accurately.
