If you would like to file a feature request, please follow the steps at https://make.wordpress.org/core/handbook/testing/reporting-bugs/ and choose “Enhancement” as the report type.
Although this does not meet your request, I recommend that you avoid pasting a link at the beginning of a block.
Type words that describe the destination, select them, and paste the address on those words to create the link. If people need to see a full link address, however, you could type a space before pasting the link and then click the “Link” button to make it clickable.
My attempt to disable the embed block(s) without a plugin was ultimately unsuccessful. I could uncheck the Embeds blocks from Preferences, but then:
1. the editor failed to paste a link at the beginning of the paragraph block, and
2. at least videos can still embed as they did with the previous editor.
