FATAL ERROR – in Customize / Edit Homepage

    Hi,
    What’s the latest thinking on what causes the
    Fatal error: Unknown: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in Unknown on line 0 error?

    I am fixing my friend’s website and I see this internally when
    1) I go to Appearance > Customize
    2) Try to edit the homepage.

    There is a caching plugin installed but it is deactivated. What do people recommend? I’m worried about wrecking her website / losing work I have done so far if I disable plugins and resinstate them and the data is gone. THANKS!

    Hi,
    1- Please make sure that you are using the latest version of wordpress, themes and plugins.

    2- Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    3- If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the default theme for your version of WordPress to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    4- Check the server error log to know the error detail of this issue.
