Hi, overnight I’ve had a number of failed order placed. All under the same name, phone number and email address but the address varies every time. Is there a way I can block the email address from placing orders? I have tried blocking the IP address but it changes each time. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @kds26, thanks for reaching out.

Although Wordfence works on sites running WooCommerce, and a couple of our features such as 2FA are specifically compatible with it, taking orders is specific to the e-commerce platforms rather than WordPress. There are add-ons for WooCommerce I’ve seen such as “WooCommerce Fraud Prevention” (and there are likely others) that has advanced email blocking features for the purpose you describe.

You could utilize “Immediately block the IP or users who try to sign in as these usernames” in Wordfence, but I appreciate that not all customers making orders will be logged in if guest checkouts are allowed, or these users could be changing the email address every time they try.

If you feel your use-case would also benefit other customers using both Wordfence and WooCommerce, please by all means let our team know at feedback @ wordfence . com.

    Thanks,
    Peter.

    Hi @wfpeter,

Thank you for your reply. I have another thought, would it be possible to add google recaptcha v3 to the woocommerce checkout page?

I’ll look into the plugin you suggested and foward my suggestions to your feedback address.

    Thank you.

    Hi @kds26,

We do have a development case already open to add reCAPTCHA to the WooCommerce checkout page, although we cannot comment on delivery schedules here on the forums. You could by all means request that at the same time as emailing the team.

Again, in the mean time a WooCommerce add-on may already offer CAPTCHA functionality or other anti-spam measures to the checkout page.

    Thanks again,
    Peter.
