With the import and export options in the Yoast SEO plugin, it doesn’t include the metadata for the canonical URLs.

You’ll need to copy the site and the database and find a way to import it to your new site if you want to add that data. However, this won’t be something we’ll be able to help you with.

But by default, the canonical URL should automatically self-reference to itself so in most cases, there’s actually no need to change the default canonical URL output – https://yoast.com/help/canonical-urls-in-wordpress-seo/
