Error: SSL Connection Timeout

    Every so often I will see “Error: SSL Connection Timeout”. A page refresh will resolve this issue and then the tweets display normally.

    My site is not on SSL, and I believe this is due to my web host being Windows. I noticed the FAQ has a ‘disable SSL verification of twitter.com’ filter, but I am unsure if this is recommended for my issue.

    Further advice on regarding this would be much appreciated.

    I don’t know what WordPress on Windows uses for HTTP transport, but on most systems it uses cURL when it’s available. Disabling SSL verification is a last resort if cURL has SSL issues you can’t sort out. I can’t advice any further than that, perhaps someone else on here can.

    Hi Tim, thanks for letting me know disabling SSL is a last resort; I will look around further for solutions. I’ll try getting in touch with my web host as well.

    Apart from the SSL issue, plugin works great, thanks for developing it!
