Hi, that website address doesn’t appear to work for me. Is it correct? I’d like to take a look to see if there is any more information about the error on the page. Can you confirm what version of WordPress you’re on also?
Thanks.
thanks for the response, Mike.

Copied and pasted from the address bar.
It just sends me to http://127.0.0.1/ – try another pc perhaps? I cannot view the website.
Thank you, Mike.
The trouble with the web address is a country blocker. I get so many hacking attempts I used it and forgot it. We are a local club so international traffic is not good. I had tried the address posted with the message and with my response. Bot work. Could you please try now? Thank you.
Looking at it now, I see this in the AJAX response:
> Sorry, there was an error. Please be sure JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in your browser and try again
After a search, I’m thinking this request might be blocked by a plugin. Are you using a spam shield plugin by any chance? Or maybe something else along those lines which could block the login request.
If you find the plugin causing it let me know and I can check why there is a compatibility issue on my test site. In the meantime it can be disabled.
The only Spam blocker I am using is WP-SpamShield and the country blocker, which is an addon to WP Security. WP Security also has a Spam Blocker but I can’t see anything it’s blocking … I use it for the other features.
The only update I have had in about 5 or 6 days is to Sidebar Login Widget. This issue just started this morning, to my knowledge.
Yup, so if you turn off wp spam shield temporarily to confirm its that I can investigate more thoughoughly later in the week. Given the error message I’m 99% sure it’s that plugin blocking the request.
You can download the previous version here if you need a quick fix also: https://wordpress.org/plugins/sidebar-login/advanced/
It would be nice to have confirmation this is a conflict with wpspamshield regardless. Thanks.
That was it! Yea! I deactivated
WP-SpamShield and tested in both Firefox and Chrome. The trouble is solved.
I saved the URL above, just in case I need it. Thank you EVER so much!
Great.
WP Spam Shield is no longer on the repository, so it might be a good idea to drop it anyway. Plugins like Akismet can deal with comment spam instead.
Cheers
