Error Processing Checkout

    Hi,

    For some reason, the shop page of one of my clients is not working anymore. After putting in all the billing details and attempting a checkout, I receive the following error message: “ERROR PROCESSING CHECKOUT. PLEASE TRY AGAIN.”.

    The shop worked a couple of weeks ago and I had not made/attempted any changes until after I encountered the issue.

    The console logs the following, although I’m sure it has nothing to do with the issue:

    Mixed Content: The page at 'https://chocolatearts.com/checkout/' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure stylesheet 'http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Montserrat:400,700'. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

    Div for inline form "Inline Form for Website - Created Dec 11 2017" is missing. Was inline code installed?

    Further notes:

    I actually tried updating to the latest version of WooCommerce, but that didn't work either. With the latest update, I suddenly couldn't add items to the cart anymore. Furthermore, the product details of an item were not showing and the item picture was gone as well. I then tried to disable my theme (Bridge - latest version) and use a standard WP theme (I believe I tried Twenty Nineteen) together with the latest version of WooCommerce. I could add items to the card again but would receive the same error message: "ERROR PROCESSING CHECKOUT. PLEASE TRY AGAIN.". Again, the shop was working a few weeks ago. Not sure where this is coming from all of a sudden. Especially, since no changes had been made to the website prior to encountering this error.

    WordPress is up to date, as are all the plugins. I only reverted back to a previous version of WooCommerce since the new version seems to break the site even more (e.g. items details and images not showing).

    What are the recommended steps for me to find the root of the problem?

    Hi @malosch,

    Let’s see if we can sort these out for you. The mixed content warnings come from some of the content being loaded on the site via http though the site is https.

    One of the items is in the child theme’s style.css file. This line for Google Fonts:

    
@import url(http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Montserrat:400,700);

    You’ll want to change the http:// there to https:// so that it loads over https too.

    Also, the arrow at the bottom is loaded that same way. You’ll want to update it too:

    For the This request could not be authorized error. Often times that can be fixed in Square by disconnecting the store and then connecting it back again. Give that a try and see if it doesn’t take care of that part for you.

    Hi,

    Disconnecting and reconnecting Square did the trick. However, I wonder why that is and if there is a way to prevent this issue from happening again?

    I’m glad that fixed the trouble for you. Great question about keeping it from happening again. This has happened to a handful of users recently and the developers are already working on a way to address this. Look for a permanent fix to be in an update to the plugin.
