error: missing_nonce

Some (but not all) users recently got an error when they tried to click a DLM link:

{“success”:false,”data”:{“error”:”missing_nonce”}}

This hasn’t happened previously, and I’m wondering if it might be related to the update from a few days ago?

The error had been from this link:

I cleared site cache and it appears to be working now, but I removed the link from the page it had been on since I was concerned the error might appear again.

For testing purposes, I’ve added it onto this page: https://publichealthcollaborative.org/test-for-dlm/

Are you having any redirects on those links? Clicking the download link sends me to https://publichealthcollaborative.org/file?id=11658 which is not a Download Monitor link.

Yes, sorry, I should have added that we have done some add on work to your plugin.

Have you heard of any other reports of nonce errors recently?

Hey @piercingdigital ,

Don’t know exactly what you did but seems that the nonce that should be attached to the download endpoint is not, thus giving the missing nonce error. You could add the nonce created here to your add on work and see if that solves your issues.

We have not received other reports with your issue, the missing nonce.
