Hello – I have installed and have been using the free version of GiveWP on https://scenic4.org/donate. We use PayPal. Have had a few reports of an error when trying to submit the form “Something went wrong. Please try again or contact support.” My question today though is in regards to Venmo.

I just enabled Venmo, and in testing, it all seems to be working properly and then, as soon as I scan the QR code, it transfers me to Venmo, I see the amount briefly on the Venmo screen, then a screen appears “Something went wrong. Go back to the merchant and try again” — I’ve tried multiple times and I’ve had others test with the same result.

What can we do? I have disabled caching on the donate page to try to resolve it, but it did not help. I’ve tried other browsers, but I get the same result. I’ve checked the connection to PayPal and it confirms: Connected as Standard for payments as info@scenic4.org

    Help?

    Hello @lbowlydesign ,

Glad you reached out, happy to help!

I tested your donation form and I also received the same “Something went wrong” error. We’ve seen this a few times with other customers using Venmo. I suspect that even if you visit GiveWP > Tools > Logs in the admin you won’t see an entry for my donation attempt, it’s not making it to the actual donation form to being processing. Given that, this is usually an issue with the Venmo account in general, especially on a new account. The next step would be to reach out to Venmo support to have them check your account, and also ask them to also test the donation process via Venmo as well to verify with your donation form link.

This link will take you to Venmo customer support: https://help.venmo.com/cs/contact-us. They appear to offer chat and phone support as well.

Please let us know how things go! And of course we are here to assist with any other questions you might have 🙂
