    Hi,

I have the redirection plugin working well (it’s a great plugin – thank you!) on other sites but on a new site, i am getting the following problem…

I go to tools / redirection and follow instructions to set up, sometimes it works, sometimes i get an error creating tables (the tables are there).

Then i go back to tools / redirection and i see the initial set up screen again. If i go through this again any redirects i’ve created before show up in the list of redirects.

When i test any of the redirects, they all fail, with

Expected: 301 to page i want to redirect to

Found: 301 to page i want to redirect

I’ve tried deleting all data and re-installing but nothing seems to work.

    Are you able to help?

    Thanks

What is the setup error? It should provide a lot of details.

    Thanks for the quick response.

I’m no longer getting an error when re-installing after deleting tables / data.

What happens every time is, i complete installation, go through set up and add some test redirects. and

When i then navigate to tools / redirects i see the set up dialogue again.

When i go through the set up steps again, any redirects i set up initially created are still visible in the redirects list but unfortunately they don’t work – with the following info for each when tested:

Expected: 301 to page i want to redirect to (for example the full url of the site example – https://test.com )

Found: 301 to page i want to redirect (for example https://test.com/test)

Are there any tables I can check that may should have a record to say that redirection is enabled or anything like that?

    Thanks!

The installation process will only ever happen once. Until that happens then anything else after is unknown behaviour.

This sounds to me like you have an aggressive caching system that is causing all kinds of strange effects.
