Error: content, title and excerpt are empty

    I am unable to import any Post at all due to this error message being shown for every row in the import xml.

    Steps:
    1. Export Posts from WP instance 1 (eg. 12 posts, as xml)
    2. Import Posts to instance 2. Everything looks ok, the file is parsed, it tells me 12 items will be imported, I get to see the content of each Post during the import wizard step 3, confirmation screen says ’12 Posts will be imported’ but when I click ok I just get 12 rows in the log screen: ‘Error: content, title and excerpt are empty’

    If I try in step 4 to set values for the Field Mapping (typing some strings into title, content & excerpt text boxes) then these literal strings are used and the first import is successfully done but with these string literals, not the real content from the xml.

    It looks like I need to do *something* in step 4 but I have no clue what on earth it is – can you help me out with this please!

    Please use migrate package for transfer your data between sites. just click migrate package button on export page it will give zip file. import that zip file.

    Hi,

    go to export page. click migrate button top of page. it will give you zip file.

    The error message can be corrected by going to Step #3 and making sure you have Title & Content section completed. Drag from right to fill in form on left.

    Developer needs to spend less time deleting potential user’s posts and more time fixing plugin

    I’ve the same issue.

    And there is no “migrate button” on the top of the export page.

    Hi,

    Latest version have “Export With Settings For Import” button. so please try it.

    it will generate zip package for import.

    thank you for the reply.
    I already did it, my first try was with the ZIP: it runs some time and than had the server error 500.
    first file size was 800 Mb. On a second attempt, I excluded files > 3MB, and the 400MB ZIP runs into the same error.
