    Dear Support Team,

I have installed a free Jetpack plugin to my site. It seems to work properly with the Sitestats function. But when I try accessing the setting menu, it shows under the menu “Failed fetching site data from WordPress.com. If the problem persists, try reconnecting Jetpack.”

Then I tried to click restore connection, it shows “There was an error reconnecting Jetpack. Error: 429”

Could you please do the investigation with this case?

    Hi there, @gaosa,

Thanks for getting in touch about this, happy to help here!

I checked your Jetpack connection, and I can see that there is in fact and issue with the connection. Could you please the the following?

    • ensure our IP range is fully in the allow list for your servers: https://jetpack.com/support/how-to-add-jetpack-ips-allowlist/
    • check for any security/caching plugins you may have enabled, and try temporarily disabling them to see if it fixes the problem.
    • search for any firewall on your server-side that might be blocking the communication with the xmlrpc.php file – your host should be able to help you with that.

Once these are done, please reconnect Jetpack and let us know how it goes.

In the future please do not share any sensitive data in the public forum as it’s inherently insecure. I will ask the mods to redact it.

Let me know how you get on!
