• Hi,

I use the Siteground cache plugin to give a 3-tier cache system on all my sites.

However, the last upgrade gives me this warning on the admin interface:

“Important warning from SG Optimizer plugin: We have detected that there is duplicate functionality with other plugins installed on your site: Cache Enabler. Please note that having two plugins with the same functionality may actually decrease your site’s performance and hurt your pages loading times so we recommend you to leave only one of the plugins active.s

Can you advise if I can remove your plugin and my site will still work with Optimus and the SG cache system?

  • If you are using WebP images on your site these will no longer be delivered if you remove Cache Enabler. This is because Cache Enabler creates a static WebP copy of your page and if it is disabled your site will simply deliver the regular PNG or JPG images.

You could however define on your origin server to deliver WebP images however this method does not work if you are using a CDN or any other type of proxy, here is more information: https://optimus.keycdn.com/support/configuration-to-deliver-webp
