Is there the option, or could there be, to display documents in the browser window? mostly I need this for pdfs so users dont have to download and open as a separate process.

I’ve tried finding such an option but theres no direct link, only the forced download. I dont want to use Wordperss media library but its looking like the option option.

The preview functionality is what you are looking for you can either use the drop down menu and press the preview button or if you go directly to the mdocs post you can set the tab to preview which will allow users to see the file.

    hi
    thanks for the reply.

Previews are handled by 3rd party i.e. googledocs, which I cant use. Im using this on an intranet site and so theres no communication outside of that due to site security.
so all I need is an open in browser option.

excellent, thanks very much. I look forward to seeing it implemented 🙂

I would like to second the wish to implement an in browser preview option. We too are using WordPress for an intranet environment, and do not wish to use an online previewer.
