    Totally unusable as well as slow in present state – present editor is fine as default and WordPress community should not have this plugin imposed upon them. Please do NOT add to core – it will confuse all content editors on my sites – it should be optional

    @robf I am interested if possible to dig a little into the setup you are using. Speed issues are something we can work on and it’s important to get all feedback we can as the product is developed.

    There will be a way to turn off this experience: https://wordpress.org/plugins/classic-editor/. This will always be available.

    Hello Tammie, thanks for responding

    I (was) running it under WP4.9 on test site behind a password on shared hosting.

    This site was absolutely fine speed-wise with the standard editor, desperately slow and fails to save anything with “this experience” installed, so have now removed it, and will be very wary of using it in future.

    Immensely relieved to hear it will be possible to turn it off, but it should be optional and opt-in rather than opt-out.

    I also completely agree with all the points well made by @gsallman in his recent review, and similar concerns raised by many others.
