Are there any options for integrating this plugin with Sendgrid or some other type of smtp sending service? I tried setting it up through my webserver, and on the first test send, 3 of the emails were marked as undeliverable with the IP address being blocked by those recipients as potential spam – thats after 1 email. Are there any options/configuration settings for improving that?

There are no integrations with SMTP sending services such as Sendgrid.

Spam is a tricky topic, since the reputation of a domain / IP depends on a lot of different factors. I would not think that a single email could cause this, but I do not how we could find out.

Normally, in the context of listserves (where a discussion within the group is intended most of the time), SPAM flagging might be a problem at first. At the same time, users are interested in proactively whitelisting emails from/to mailing lists – as opposed to mass mailings in the newsletter context. That is why I recommend to instruct them to whitelist the mailing list’s messages.

Could I use a plugin such as this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-sendgrid-smtp/ – to force the system to send through Sendgrid, rather than my own hosts email server? Would something like that be compatible?
