Dates on posts

Hi,

I’m using the free version at the moment and have two related questions.

1. The ‘meta-dates’ shown on the front page are the dates that posts are created not the dates they are published. Is it possible to change this to the published dates as I tend to batch write my posts and then schedule publishing and ideally need the publishing dates.
2. If it’s not possible, can I remove the dates from the ‘highlight’ scroll on the front page in the same as I can for the other blocks in the theme.
