Customiser broken

Further to a previous topic in which I asked for help, but the post was held over for later perusal eventually by a moderator (while my deadline charges at me like a freight train), another theme was selected. Hemingway was deleted and reactivated and now there’s this error message on the Customizer on the WP dash under Appearance:

The site is experiencing technical difficulties.

It’s the same error there was BEFORE the reinstall.
