    Hi, good day,

I was wondering if there’s a way I could make my fixed widget to be displayed on particular posts archives (categories, tags, etc)? I don’t want my fixed widget to be applied throughout the entire site – just some custom posts. I’d be ready to pay extra for this if made available. Thanks!

    Hi Khris,

    thanks for reaching out!

Do you want to disable the fixed feature, but keep the widgets, on specific pages or disable certain widgets completely?

For the latter, a plugin like Block Visibility could work. Even for the first case, you could try to add the same widget twice, once with the fixed option enabled, and once without it, and use Block Visibility to deliver the appropriate one.

Let me know how it goes!

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hey Thomas,

    Thanks for the response!

What I meant is that for instance – I have 4 product categories on my blog, I then activated the sticky scroll fixed widget that promotes one of the products. I want it to show only on pages within that product category – now it is showing on other product categories. Is there an option to set that.

Also, I would like to create and enable a widget for 3 of the other product categories and exclude it from each other. Is this something that’s possible in any way?

    Thank you!

    Hey Khris,

    > Is this something that’s possible in any way?

Not in Fixed Widget, but it really sounds like the Block Visibility or similar plugins are the solution you are looking for.

I wand to keep the Fixed Widget feature set rather narrow. If you asked about fixing the widgets only on certain pages then I could think about adding that in the future, but disabling a widget totally is out of the scope.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

Yeah, fixing the widgets only on certain pages would definitely be a game-changer. If that’s made available, I can find my way around other preferences.

I made a note of this. Since I cannot say if or when we will implement this, please also look into the idea above to completely disable certain widgets.

    Thanks!
