Are you using WooCommerce or some other e-commerce solution on site? Where/how exactly did you put those macros in SmartCrawl config – could you, please, share screenshot of those setting with us?
Also:
– did you flush cache on site/server after setting that configuration (if there is any cache active)?
– and is SmartCrawl currently the only SEO-related plugin active on site or is there some other also enabled at the same time (if yes – which one)?
I just tested this on my own test setup with WooCommerce and I couldn’t replicate the issue – those macros were correctly replaced by category/tag accordingly on front-end.
So I’m asking just to make sure that we are on the same and I’m testing the same configuration – in case I was missing something.
Thanks for response but I still need to clarify something as I think I might have misunderstood you.
On the screenshots, you are showing 1) settings in “SmartCrawl -> Title & Meta” settings and 2) settings in “on page” SEO meta box (the one that’s “per specific post” – product in this case).
That second one doesn’t show preview and I can confirm that. There are fixes planned for future but I don’t have ETA currently.
However, what I tested before responding previously – was the front-end. So basically, I visited product page in the store as a visitor. That worked fine and those macros were replaced by relevant category and tag, as expected.
The question is then:
– is it only that “in product” part that’s not working for you (as on your 2nd screenshot) but it works fine when you visit product page on front-end?
– or it is not even working on front-end for you? (in that case we will, indeed, need to troubleshoot it further).
– is it only that “in product” part that’s not working for you (as on your 2nd screenshot) but it works fine when you visit product page on front-end?
Oh my god, didn’t even checked front-end! It works perfectly. But please, make it work while editing a product, so you know that it works, and can see that the preview is correct.
