Hello @bartmissions
Thank you for the support topic, AMP only allows 75KB CSS on each page, so the AMP plugin adds optimizations for CSS which sometimes get exceeded by third-party plugins or themes.
if you are not sure how to find exceeding CSS budget follow the below steps:
1) Make sure you have enabled the AMP validation tool
Goto Users->Profile -> check the checkbox for AMP Development tool -> save
2) Visit AMP page exceeding CSS budget check Admin bar for AMP option locate submeu CSS budget and click on it (screenshot)
3) Locate the source of excessive CSS (screenshot)
4) If one of the plugins adds excessive CSS find an alternative plugin from AMP ecosystem
If Your theme is adding Excessive CSS Switch to Reader mode and choose Themes such as Astra or Neve as Reader Mode themes (screenshot)
You can learn more about Reader mode using our guide or video below
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your help.
Before reading your reply I got the Asset Cleanup plugin and eliminated all unnecessary CSS and JS from the pages and posts.
Then I activated your plugin again and then enabled the AMP validation tool as you suggested. So far everything is ok, so it seems that this problem is fixed.
@bartmissions Glad to know your issue is resolved, I’ll mark this as resolved Open a new support topic if you face further issues, also feel free to leave a plugin review, we would love to hear your feedback.
