But doesn’t these assume I already have WooCommerce with WooCommerce -products?
…I have built my custom store (not using WooCommerce or any store/commerse plugin at the moment) and would like to utilize/connect a ready checkout/invoice process…I guess connecting programmatically to WooCommerce?

In this case, yes, that would need additional customization, you will want to hire a developer to do this job for you. If your store is not using WooCommerce you can still connect it to WooCommerce sites via API. Please check the following information:
