Certain unicode characters seem to break CSS?

I’ve found that if I enter the unicode character one half (½) in an item’s description, that anything after that point appears to not have the CSS applied. It appears once you do this it permanently screws up that item, and it needs to be deleted and recreated without that unicode character.
