    Hi,
    Great plug by the way.

When I put “[Category]: Subject” into my email subject line, Postie creates a post titled “[Category]: Subject”if the category has not been created yet.
Is it possible to firstly create the category if it does not exist?
or is it possible for postie to ignore “”[Category]: “when creating the post/

    Thanks.

Currently there isn’t a way to automatically create the category. This request has come up before, but rarely.

There are some challenges in auto creating since you can provide a partial category. E.g. [cat] will match [category] or you can provide category IDs or you can provide custom taxonomy terms.

I’ll think about adding a filter so you can do the right thing in your particular case.

I did add the filter http://postieplugin.com/filter-postie_category/
I also created an addon to take advantage of it. http://postieplugin.com/downloads/create-categories/

    Hi Wayne,
Brilliant, I purchesed the add on but when I send an email it creates a post called “tmptitle”. The post body is “tmpPost” and the category is uncategorised.

    Did I miss something?

Thanks. Sounds like something is amiss. Please install the Support AddOn so I can see what is happening. http://postieplugin.com/downloads/support-addon/

I’ve fixed the issue with the addon. You should see an update available in the plugin list.
