I installed the plugin on WordPress 6.8.1 with Twenty Twenty-Five Version: 1.0.

I can highlight the text of the post and the little [+] icon shows. When I leave a comment, the comment is recorded but the highlighted text is not recorded. I can’t tell what the commenter is commenting on specifically.

    HI Jesse,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing the details!

The issue you’re experiencing—where the highlighted text isn’t saved with the comment—could be related to how the comment is being added or possibly a theme or plugin conflict.

Please make sure that you have selected the specific text in the post before clicking the [+] icon and submitting your comment. If the text isn’t selected properly, the comment will be treated as a general blog comment rather than an inline comment tied to highlighted content.

Additionally, since you’re using the Twenty Twenty-Five theme (which is fairly new and block-based), there could be compatibility issues. Here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Test with a different default theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) to check if the issue persists.
    2. Inspect browser console for JavaScript errors when submitting a comment.
    3. Temporarily disable other plugins to rule out any conflicts.

If you’re still facing issues, please share a site health report, and we’ll be happy to take a closer look.

    Looking forward to assisting further!
