    @cybr

    I have a short 1.5 minute video I took while using the Sharing Debug Tool on Facebook.

    It seems to me there may be an issue with the Canonical settings, in that it isn’t finding the HTTPS URL to be the canonical source. There is also a redirect for the OG image.

    I would like your suggestions on how to research this. I imagine this is a problem with some other plugin interfering, etc. I have canonical within TSF set to https

    My short video showing the issue (youtube unlisted)

    Details:
    Fetched URL https://www.talkingabouteverything.com/followtheleader-with-dan-zaiontz/

    Canonical URL
    http://www.talkingabouteverything.com/followtheleader-with-dan-zaiontz/

    Redirect Path
    Input URL --> https://www.talkingabouteverything.com/followtheleader-with-dan-zaiontz/

    og:url Meta Tag --> http://www.talkingabouteverything.com/followtheleader-with-dan-zaiontz/

    Hi @harryshawk,

    The canonical URL issue is something I just encountered and fixed about an hour ago.
    I’ll have that update ready next week.

    For the Open Graph image to be secure, please visit the SEO Settings page.
    In the General Settings, you’ll see the Canonical tab.
    Within you can set the Preferred Canonical Scheme, this should be HTTPS.

    In the future, always make sure you’re on HTTPS in the admin dashboard, this way, all WordPress functionality will make sure that all input URLs are correctly set to HTTPS too.

    This should fix the images. If it doesn’t, please let me know!
    As always, be sure to clear your cache 🙂

    After updating to 2.9, you should definitely clear the cache for the URLs to be as set up. Currently, this isn’t harmful for SEO, but it can obviously be better.
    From 2.9, when the preferred URL scheme is set to HTTPS, Google will slowly but surely convert their listing of your site to that scheme.

    I hope this clears things up for now. If you require any more assistance, do let me know!

    Thanks @cybr

    I’ve had HTTPS set in Canonical for several weeks now.

    🙂 Thanks for the fix 🙂 and the help 🙂

    IF you want to see how my pages are looking under both AMP and FIA (instant articles) you can visit my brand page:

    https://www.facebook.com/talkingabouteverythingpodcast/

    Scroll to find a FIA post — view from the desktop to see th blog, view from a mobile device to see FIA and add /amp/ to the end of any post to see AMP.

    Oh dear… I think the issue propagated further than wished for. I’ll be sure to re-check all variables before releasing 2.9. **makes notes**

    Your Facebook page looks good! If you wish to cooperate on any improvements I could/should/can/must/have make/made for FIA, you can contact me here.

    Cheers 🙂
