    The regular method of removing the plugin does not work. To remove it manually, is there anything that needs to be deleted other than the directory containing the files?

    Hello.
    You can just delete the plugin files and it works the same way.
    “The plugin is not there” message will appear, but if you reload the browser the message will disappear.
